Action against defaulters: Municipal Corporation Gurugram seals 6 properties

The Gurugram Municipal Corporation has intensified its campaign against property tax defaulters. On Tuesday, the corporation’s taxation team in Zone-2 sealed six properties in a single day, including a well-known private school. This action was taken against property owners who had failed to pay their taxes despite repeated notices.

The team, led by Zonal Taxation Officer Pankaj Kumar, carried out the operation on Tuesday. ​​Among the properties sealed were a property belonging to Paras Developers in Sector-106 and Prime Scholars School in Sector-102. A total of ₹74.95 lakh in property tax was outstanding on these six properties. According to corporation officials, the taxes remained unpaid despite multiple notices, following which the sealing action was taken as per regulations.

Impact of the action: Defaulters pay ₹1.16 crore

The impact of the corporation’s strict action is now becoming visible in the Zone-2 area. Due to the continuous notices and sealing actions, many defaulting property owners have started paying their taxes on time. Recently, approximately ₹1.16 crore has been deposited into the municipal corporation’s account by defaulters in Zone-2, resulting in a significant increase in the corporation’s revenue.
