Migrant worker arrested for killing 37-year-old woman

Ludhiana:

A day after finding the half-naked body of a 37-year-old woman, the Khanna police have claimed to solve the murder case with the arrest of a migrant worker.

The police have also recovered a wooden stick and a shirt with blood stains on it from the possession of the accused. According to the police, the actual reason behind the murder is yet unknown.

Moreover, the sexual assault on the woman is also yet not confirmed.

The accused has been identified as Bablu Yadav of Bihar, presently residing in village Siar

SSP Khanna Ashwini Gotyal said that after victim’s husband found the body of woman in a secluded place in village Siar on Thursday night, he alerted the police and lodged the complaint against the accused. Following which, the Malaud police lodged an FIR against the accused on Friday under sections 103 (1) of BNS and arrested the accused.

SI Satnam Singh, SHO, Malaud Police Station said that the couple and the accused were earlier residing in the house of Jasveer Singh, who is presently settled abroad. Around three months ago Jasveer had asked the couple to make Bablu leave the house. Following which Bablu nursed the rivalry and he assaulted the woman last night when she went out for some work.

SI added that the actual reason behind the rivalry will be ascertained after questioning the accused. He added that the police are waiting for the postmortem report to confirm whether the victim was sexually assaulted or not.
