Mussoorie Clash: Gurugram Tourists and Locals Fight After Car Collision, One Arrested

Mussoorie (Uttarakhand): A violent altercation broke out in Mussoorie after a car collision between tourists from Gurugram and local residents, leaving at least two people injured, police said.

According to police and local accounts, the incident took place between 10 pm and 11 pm on June 28 near the Bata showroom area when a Toyota Innova Hycross carrying four tourists from Gurugram allegedly collided with a vehicle belonging to four local residents.

Argument Turns Violent After Collision

What began as an argument soon escalated into a physical fight between the two groups. Locals alleged that the tourists became aggressive when they protested over the accident.

During the confrontation, a plastic milk crate from a nearby shop was allegedly used in the assault, causing head injuries to a man. A woman who tried to intervene was also allegedly injured and fell on the road.

The commotion continued for several minutes before locals intervened and detained one of the tourists at the spot.

Police Reach Spot, Situation Controlled

Police were alerted through the emergency helpline (112) and reached the scene shortly after. Officers managed to bring the situation under control and restore order.

One accused, identified as Neeraj Raghav (36), a resident of Sikanderpur in Gurugram, was taken into custody after medical examination. He was arrested under Section 170 of BNSS for disturbing public peace and later produced before an executive magistrate.

Vehicle Challaned

Police also issued a challan under the Motor Vehicles Act against the Toyota Innova Hycross involved in the incident.

Officials confirmed that they are investigating the matter further based on CCTV footage and statements from both sides.
