Nagar Kirtan to Be Held in Jalandhar on Nov 1 to Mark Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Birth Anniversary

Jalandhar, Punjab: Nagar Kirtan will be held in Jalandhar on November 1 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The religious procession is being organized under the leadership of the Gurdwara Diwan Asthan Management Committee and other Sikh organizations.

Half-Day Holiday Announced for Schools and Colleges

In view of the programme and to respect religious sentiments, the Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner (DC) has announced a half-day holiday for all government and private schools and colleges in the district after 12 noon on November 1.

The DC said the decision was taken keeping in mind the convenience of students and to ensure smooth traffic flow during the event.

Traffic and Security Arrangements in Place

The Nagar Kirtan will pass through major roads of the city, and the administration has made special arrangements for traffic regulation and security. Police personnel will be deployed at key points to prevent congestion and to maintain order during the religious procession.
