Nagaur: Pickup vehicle overturns; One Dead, Seven Injured

On Monday, a horrific road accident on the Deh-Nagaur route in Nagaur district turned a family’s joy into deep mourning. A pickup truck, returning with wedding supplies, suddenly went out of control and overturned; one person died on the spot, while seven others sustained serious injuries.

According to reports, the occupants of the pickup were returning to Nagaur from Deh. Near Gudla, while attempting to avoid an oncoming motorcycle, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the pickup to overturn. Following the crash, all occupants of both the pickup and the motorcycle were thrown onto the road and sustained severe injuries.

Injured Admitted to Hospital
Chaos ensued at the scene immediately after the accident. Acting on information provided by passersby, an ambulance and a team from the local toll plaza arrived at the site, and all the injured individuals were admitted to the JLN Hospital in Nagaur.

One Dead, Several in Critical Condition
During treatment, Birjaram, a resident of Burdi, succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the condition of all the injured—including Omprakash Nayak, Sohanram, Babulal, Ramniwas, Ridhuram, as well as the motorcyclists Dinesh and Nolaram—is reported to be critical. All the individuals involved are related to one another.

Family Shattered Just Before Daughter’s Wedding
One of the injured, Omprakash Nayak, revealed that his daughter’s wedding is scheduled for April 30. He had gone to Deh with his brothers specifically to shop for the wedding, but the accident that occurred during their return journey has left the entire family devastated.
