Punjab-Origin Social Media Influencer Nancy Grewal Murdered in Canada

Chandigarh: Nancy Grewal, a 45-year-old Punjab-origin social media influencer living in LaSalle, was stabbed to death at her home on Tuesday night (March 3) around 9:30 pm.

Police said someone broke into her house, stabbed her, and ran away. She was taken to a hospital but died during treatment.

She succumbs to her injuries. Canadian police officer Michael Pierce announced the incident on Wednesday evening. Nancy was a Punjabi-born social media influencer and YouTuber who criticised Khalistani activities in her videos.

Police sealed the area and started an investigation.

Canada Police Officer Pierce said the incident was reported Tuesday night (March 3). Police and paramedics arrived at the 2400 block of Todd Lane around 9:30 p.m.

Members of the Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Service also arrived at the scene and transported the injured woman to a hospital, where she later died.

Officers cordoned off two homes on Todd Lane, between Canada Street and Bishop Street, on Wednesday morning. Evidence was marked on the stairs and walkway leading to the front door of one home.

Authorities cordoned off the area with yellow police tape around a wooded area on Todd Lane, about a kilometer from the scene. This is the entrance to the pedestrian paths near Herb Gray Parkway.

Police said: the accused will be caught soon

Canadian police officer Pierce expressed his deepest condolences to Nancy Grewal’s family and friends. He also stated that the police are investigating the murder seriously and that the perpetrators will be apprehended soon.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects. They are asking anyone with information or CCTV footage about the incident to contact Detective Sergeant Jamie Nestor.

Nancy used to criticize Khalistani activities

According to reports, Nancy Grewal was a frequent critic of pro-Khalistan activities. She frequently expressed her views on social media, using abusive language in her videos, and also speaking out against several leaders in Punjab.

Commented on Jathedar in the last video

Nancy Grewal uploaded a controversial video to her Facebook page six days ago, in which she made derogatory remarks about Kuldip Singh Gadgaj, the Jathedar of the Sri Akal Takht. She commented on his dressing sense.

After this video, Nancy Grewal did not upload any videos to her Facebook page. On February 25th, she also made objectionable comments about Radha Soami Baba of Dera Beas.

She also sharply criticized Punjabi singer KS Makhan for joining the Akali Dal in a video on February 24. Nancy has also been vocal against Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia.
