Narcotics Smuggling Cartel Busted: Amritsar Police arrest 5 with 7 Kg heroin

In a major breakthrough, Amritsar Commissionerate Police busted a cross-border narcotics smuggling cartel. Taking Big action, the police also apprehended 5 accused and recovered 7.050 kg of heroin. The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested accused were in contact with a Pakistan-based smuggler. The accused was acting under his instructions for further distribution of drugs in Punjab.

Two separate FIRs have been registered under the NDPS Act at PS Chheharta and PS Cantonment, Amritsar.

Further investigation is underway to establish forward and backward linkages of this drug-smuggling network.
