16 Naxalites killed in ongoing encounter on Sukma-Dantewada Border

An encounter is going on between the police and Naxalites on the border of Sukma and Dantewada districts of Chhattisgarh since Saturday morning.

Jagdalpur: An encounter is going on between the police and Naxalites on the border of Sukma and Dantewada districts of Chhattisgarh since Saturday morning. 16 Naxalites are reported to have been killed in this. DRG and CRPF soldiers have surrounded the Naxalites. The incident is from Keralapal police station area.

According to the information received, the soldiers have also recovered automatic weapons like INSAS, SLR from the spot. The number of Naxalites killed is likely to increase. Earlier on March 25, the security forces had killed 3 Naxalites including Naxalite Sudhir alias Sudhakar, who had a reward of Rs 25 lakh on his head.

In 2025, soldiers in the Bastar range encountered 100 Naxalites in an encounter.

Two major encounters took place in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar division on March 20. 30 Naxalites were killed in these. The first encounter took place on the Bijapur-Dantewada border and the second on the Kanker-Narayanpur border. Bastar IG Sundarraj P. said that 26 Naxalites were killed in the encounter in Bijapur.

In this encounter, a DRG (District Reserve Guard) jawan was also martyred. In the encounter that took place in Kanker area, 4 Naxalites were killed. Here, the third Naxal incident took place on the Narayanpur-Dantewada border. Here, two jawans were injured in an IED blast in Thulthuli area.
