New Delhi: Delhi Police have arrested a man in the Kailash Nagar area of Shahdara district for allegedly raping multiple dogs, officials reported on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Naushad, was taken into custody after an animal welfare NGO filed a complaint against him. Naushad previously worked as a supplier for the organization.

A video circulated on social media showing the man sexually assaulting a dog. In the footage, he can be seen being beaten by bystanders, with individuals questioning him about how many dogs he had raped. According to a statement from Delhi Police, the video was posted by an animal activist on X, tagging various political leaders, the Delhi Police, the Chief Minister, and the Lieutenant Governor’s office.

Officials indicated that the NGO claims Naushad has raped at least 12 to 13 female dogs, and investigations are currently ongoing, including interrogations related to the case.

In a separate incident, three Bangladeshi nationals, including a woman, were apprehended by a special police team in Rohini for residing “illegally” in Delhi. They have since been sent to a deportation center after completing necessary formalities, according to police.

The arrests were based on confidential information and human intelligence. The police identified and verified the documents of the three Bangladeshi nationals who were in the national capital without valid Indian documentation. One of the detainees, Mahbub Alam (50), is from Sylhet, Bangladesh. He entered India on April 5, 2025, for an appointment at the Portuguese embassy regarding a work permit but overstayed his visa, which expired on April 8.
