Uttar Pradesh: 4 people burnt alive in a moving car in Meerut have been identified. The deceased include a mother-son and 2 others. A hair-raising picture of the accident has emerged. The bodies of all four were burnt to such an extent that they shrunk to their skeletons. Only the metal body of the car is left.
Firefighter Praveen Kumar, who reached to extinguish the fire, said- fellow policemen started vomiting due to the smell of burning people.
When the fire was extinguished, we turned on the torch and saw, we got goosebumps. The skeletons were in such a position, as if they had struggled inside to escape. Tried to break the glass with hands and feet, but the glass did not break.
Partapur fire station firefighter Praveen said- as we got the information, we left with our team. Smoke was visible from one and a half km away.
When we reached the spot, the car had become a ball of fire. It was difficult to stand there due to the strong smell of burning flesh.
Due to the smell, our colleague vomited there itself. Somehow we started the operation by keeping a handkerchief on the nose. After the fire was extinguished, we went to the car with a torch. When we looked inside, we got goosebumps. There were not 1 or 2, but 4 skeletons in the car. The skeletons were in such a condition that it looked like an upside-down frying pan.
Praveen said the fire was so fierce that the glass panes of the car had broken due to pressure. Nothing was found in the car except the skeletons and the CNG cylinder. The cylinder had turned into red embers.
If we had reached a few seconds late, the cylinder would have exploded.
The temperature of the cylinder was much more than 100 degrees at that time. We immediately cooled the cylinder. People were removed from there. The entire route was blocked and diverted.
4 dead bodies have been found inside the car. All four have been sent for postmortem. An investigation is being conducted to find out how the fire started. This car was going from Jani Canal Bridge towards Bhola Jhal Canal Bridge. Probably the car riders were going from Delhi to Haridwar.
