Srinagar: Congress on Monday (September 9) released its third list for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. It has given tickets to state Congress working president Raman Bhalla from RS Pura-Jammu South, Chaudhary Lal Singh from Basohli, and former NSUI chief Neeraj Kundan from Bishnah (SC).

Congress has so far announced the names of a total of 34 candidates for the assembly elections. Seat sharing between National Conference and Congress has also been finalized. National Conference will contest on 51 seats and Congress on 32 seats. There will be a friendly fight on 5 seats. 2 seats have been given to CPI (M) and Panthers Party.

Congress had released the second list of 6 candidates last week. Mumtaz Khan has been given a ticket from Reasi. Iftar Ahmed has been fielded from Rajouri. Bhupendra Jamwal has been given ticket from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi. Tariq Hameed Karra has been given a ticket from Central Shalteng. Shavid Ahmed Khan from Thannamandi, and Mohammad Shahnawaz Chaudhary from Surankot have been given ticket.

Earlier, the party had announced the names of 9 candidates. It is worth noting that the Jammu and Kashmir elections will be held in three phases. The first phase will be on September 18, the second phase on September 25 and the third phase on October 1. After this, the counting of votes will take place on October 8.
