Delhi remains hottest in country, temperature reaches 52.3 degrees; 80 students fainted with heatstroke in Bihar

New Delhi : On Wednesday, the fifth day of Nautapa, Delhi broke the record of highest heat in the country. The temperature in Mangeshpur was recorded at 52.3 degrees at 3:30 pm. Rain has also started here.

After Delhi, Churu city of Rajasthan was the second hottest city in the country with a temperature of 50.5 degrees. 55 people have died due to heat in Rajasthan from 23 to 29 May.

Mercury is also close to 48 degrees in Bihar. 80 children fainted in 8 districts on Wednesday because of heatstroke. A heatwave alert has been issued for two days in the state.

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heatwave for Wednesday in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh.

Amidst the water shortage in Delhi, the Kejriwal government has directed to impose a fine of 2 thousand rupees on those who wash cars with pipes. A team of 200 people will monitor the wastage of water.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday that the monsoon may hit the Kerala coast in the next 24 hours. It may reach the rest of the country in the next one week.

On the other hand, due to the Ramal storm, a red alert has been issued for rain in all the northeastern states – Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura between May 29 and June 1.

Effect of heat

2000 rupees fine for washing car with pipe in Delhi: Delhi Water Minister Atishi has written a letter to the CEO of Delhi Jal Board and directed him to immediately deploy 200 teams across Delhi, so that washing cars with pipes, overflowing of water tanks and use of domestic water supply for construction or commercial purposes can be cracked down.

Atishi directed that teams will be deployed from 8 am on May 30 and anyone wasting water will be fined Rs 2000 and illegal water connections at construction sites or commercial establishments will be disconnected.

Paid leave to workers in Delhi: Workers working on construction sites in Delhi have been given paid leave from 12 noon to 3 pm. The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has issued instructions.

Water shortage: According to the Central Water Commission, the water stock in 150 main water sources of the country decreased to just 24 percent last week, due to which there was a shortage of water in many states and power generation was affected.

Power consumption increased: The country’s power demand has increased to 239.96 GW, which is the highest so far this season. It is believed that in the coming few days, the power demand will increase and cross last year’s all-time high of 243.27 GW.
