New Delhi: BJP leader Anurag Thakur has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of having an “anti-Dalit” mindset, criticizing the party’s treatment of Dalit leaders and claiming that essential services in Delhi would improve if the BJP takes power. Thakur pointed out that the Punjab Chief Minister from AAP showed disrespect to Dr. Ambedkar’s statue and made derogatory remarks about Dalit MLAs. He also alleged that a Dalit woman who requested a ticket was asked for money, and when she demanded a refund, there were threats of violence.

Thakur also mentioned that two Dalit leaders from AAP had expressed similar concerns, highlighting that the party has not appointed a Dalit Rajya Sabha MP or a Dalit Deputy Chief Minister. He criticized the party for failing to deliver on its promise to send 500 Dalit students abroad for education and said these actions demonstrate the party’s disrespect for Dalit leaders and the community.

Thakur emphasized the gap between AAP’s promises and actions, asserting that the party’s approach contradicts its claims of inclusivity. In contrast, he promised that if the BJP comes to power, essential services like electricity, clean water, and road maintenance would be improved, and beneficiary schemes would be better executed.

Thakur also mocked the Congress party for its political struggles, criticizing its leaders for avoiding public rallies, including Rahul Gandhi, whose mega rally was canceled due to health issues. He pointed out that Congress has failed to win a seat in the last two Delhi Assembly elections, marking a sharp decline after earlier successes. The results of the current Assembly election will be announced on February 8.
