Agitating doctors seek another meeting with CM as protest continues, father of victim makes accuses CM Mamata

The junior doctors said around 2 am on the interveing night of Tuesday-Wednesday that they would continue their protest.

Kolkata: The father of the trainee doctor victim of the rape-murder at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College has made a big allegation against Mamata Banerjee. He said that if Mamata had taken action against the former principal of the college, Sandeep Ghosh, in 2021, his daughter would have been alive today.

The victim’s father said- “CBI is doing its job. All those who are connected to this murder in any way, or who may be involved in tampering with evidence, are being investigated. The junior doctors who are protesting are in pain. They are like my children. We also feel pain seeing them like this.”

“The day the accused are punished, that day we will win. In the year 2021 also, many complaints were lodged against the former principal of the college, Sandeep Ghosh, if the Chief Minister had taken action against Sandeep Ghosh then, my daughter would have been alive”, said father of the victim.

Hours after the removal of police commissioner and other concerned officials, The junior doctors said around 2 am on the interveing night of Tuesday-Wednesday that they would continue their protest.

The meeting of the doctors’ governing body started at 6:30 pm and lasted till 1 am. The junior doctors said in a press conference that their protest will continue until their all demands are met. Apart from this the protesting doctors also sought second round of meeting with CM Mamata Banerjee.

It should be noted that after meeting with agitating doctors, CM Mamata Banerjee accepted 3 out of 5 demands and removed Police Commissioner and two other senior officials of the health department. Late in the evening, New CP of Kolkata Manoj Kumar Verma replaced Vineet Goyal and assumed charge.
