An Air India flight from San Francisco to Mumbai developed a technical fault mid-air, forcing passengers to be deboarded at Kolkata airport on Tuesday morning.
Flight number AI180 was going to Mumbai via Kolkata. The Boeing 777-200LR (Worldliner) aircraft reached Kolkata on time at 12:45 am on June 17. It was scheduled to depart for Mumbai at 2:00 am.
The takeoff was delayed due to a technical fault in the left engine of the aircraft. After this, at around 5:20 am, the captain asked the passengers to get off the plane. He said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind flight safety.
