Bhopal: Anand, the fourth suspect in the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi—who was killed during his honeymoon in Meghalaya, allegedly by his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi and her lover Raj Kushwaha—has been detained in Basari village, Bina, Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district. He had fled Indore and sought refuge at his childhood home, but authorities finally located him. Additionally, another suspect, Akash Lodhi, was arrested by Shillong Police during a raid in Digwar village, Kotwali Mahroni, late Sunday night. Neighbors said Akash, who had been living in Indore with his father Raghavendra Lodhi, had arrived in the village that evening.

Meanwhile, Sonam Raghuvanshi’s return has left her mother-in-law, Uma Raghuvanshi, deeply distressed. She recalls seeing Sonam unharmed and without injuries and doubts she was kidnapped, believing if she had been, there would be signs of struggle. Uma is struggling with uncertainty and is talking to her late son’s memory, hoping for the truth.

Three suspects—whose identities include Raj Kushwaha, Vishal Chauhan, and Akash Rajput—have been taken into custody, with some being escorted to MY Hospital in Indore for medical examinations. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding Raja’s death and trying to reconstruct events.

Officials from the Crime Branch, including Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dandotia, stated that two suspects were detained in Indore, and another from nearby, all residents of Nandbagh. Meghalaya Police is actively investigating, and Anand’s detention marks a significant development.

Early morning in Ghazipur, Sonam unexpectedly called her family from Kashi Dhaba on the Banaras-Ghazipur road, claiming she was there. Indore Police notified Ghazipur authorities, who recovered her and took her to Sadar Hospital for medical examination. Uttar Pradesh ADG Amitabh Yash confirmed she is now being held at the One Stop Centre in Ghazipur.
