J&K: JCO Kuldeep Chand of 9 Punjab Regiment was martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Akhnoor of Jammu district on Saturday. The encounter started late Friday night in Keri Battal area of Akhnoor. Security forces have surrounded the entire area. The army gave this information by posting on X.
On Friday, during an encounter in the dense forests of Kishtwar district, security forces killed 3 terrorists till late Friday night. The operation has been going on since night. Officials said that all the three terrorists killed belong to Jaish-e-Mohammed. Top commander Saifullah is also among them.
Earlier, on the intervening night of 4 and 5 April, BSF soldiers killed a Pakistani intruder in RS Pura sector on the LoC in Jammu. On April 1, 4-5 Pakistani intruders were killed in an encounter with the army on the LoC. The incident took place in the forward area of Krishna Ghati sector on the LoC in Poonch.

Paying tribute to him, the White Knight Corps tweeted, “GOC White Knight Corps and all the soldiers salute the supreme sacrifice of Subedar Kuldeep Chand. He attained martyrdom while leading an operation to stop the infiltration of terrorists.”

On April 1, ceasefire was violated by Pakistan
On April 1, 3 mine blasts took place in the area adjacent to LoC and firing also took place from Pakistan’s side. It is claimed that at this time terrorists had tried to infiltrate. Indian Army had retaliated. In which 4 to 5 infiltrators were killed.
The army said- On April 1, the Pakistani army tried to infiltrate from across the LoC. Due to this, a mine blast took place in the Krishna Ghati sector. The Pakistani army fired without provocation and the ceasefire was violated.
The army said- Our soldiers responded to the firing. The situation is under control and is being closely monitored. The Indian Army appeals to maintain the DGSMO agreement of the year 2021 to maintain peace on the LoC.
Here in Kathua, security forces launched a search operation in search of terrorists. A large-scale search operation was launched in Siya Badrai area of Sunderbani in Rajouri district. This area is adjacent to the border. In June 2024, terrorists had attacked a bus returning from Shiv Khori here.
