Army recovers arms and ammunition in special op in Manipur, bunkers destroyed

Imphal: Indian Army and Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, conducted a series of intelligence-based operations across various districts of Manipur. These operations led to the recovery of 114 weapons, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), grenades, ammunition, and other war-like materials. The districts involved included Bishnupur, Senapati, Thoubal, Jiribam, Chandel, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Imphal East, and Imphal.

These operations led to the recovery of 114 weapons, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), grenades, ammunition, and other war-like materials. The districts involved included Bishnupur, Senapati, Thoubal, Jiribam, Chandel, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Imphal East, and Imphal West, with coordination from Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP.

In Bishnupur district, an operation led by the Indian Army and Manipur Police recovered seven weapons, including carbines, pistols, rifles, and an improvised mortar, along with ammunition and war materials. In Chandel district, a search operation resulted in the recovery of 55 weapons, including rifles, shotguns, and improvised mortars, as well as IEDs and grenades.

In Senapati district, Assam Rifles, along with Manipur Police, recovered four weapons, including rifles and shotguns. A joint operation in Churachandpur district led to the recovery of 15 weapons. In Jiribam, the forces recovered nine improvised mortars during a joint operation. Additional operations in Imphal East and Kangpokpi districts resulted in the recovery of several weapons, including carbines, rifles, and ammunition.

In Kangpokpi, security forces also destroyed 12 bunkers during a Cordon and Search operation. Further joint operations in Thoubal and Imphal West led to the recovery of additional weapons, IEDs, and war-like stores.
