Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is set to conduct a roadshow in Mumbai on Monday to draw potential investors for the upcoming investment and infrastructure summit, ‘Advantage Assam.’
CM Sarma has been in Mumbai for the past three days, engaging with leading industrialists about investing in Assam. He highlighted the government’s efforts to make the state an attractive destination for investors.
On Sunday, he met with Noel Tata, Chairman of Tata Group, expressing his pleasure in discussing collaborative efforts to enhance the living standards of Assam’s citizens and to expand the Tata Trust’s significant contributions to healthcare and education, especially in cancer care. He extended an invitation for Tata to attend the ‘Advantage Assam’ summit.
Additionally, CM Sarma had productive discussions with Jeet Adani, Director of the Adani Group, and Anand Gopal Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group. He shared on his X handle, “Meeting with Shri @anandmahindra was a joy. His dedication to an industrialized India and his intellectual capabilities are noteworthy. I invited him to support the Assam government’s industrial growth efforts.”
Sarma noted that during his conversation with Jeet Adani, the Adani Group expressed a strong interest in exploring opportunities in Assam’s infrastructure, power, and defence sectors, with plans for significant industrial expansion in the state.
According to the Chief Minister, the ‘Advantage Assam’ event slated for February 24 and 25 will showcase the rich cultural traditions of Assam, including a special performance highlighting the traditional Jhumur dance of the tea tribe communities.
“I’m excited to have this summit serve as a platform to present Assam’s vibrant traditions to a global audience while attracting investors,” he stated. The event will feature a spectacular performance involving over 7,500 dancers and artists, promising to be a remarkable showcase, according to Sarma.
He added that meticulous preparations would include master training workshops and rehearsals at various levels in Guwahati, ensuring perfect execution of the concert planned for the summit.
