Atishi’s health deteriorates, admitted to hospital late night: was on hunger strike for 4 days over Delhi water crisis

New Delhi: Delhi’s Water Minister Atishi’s health deteriorated late night on Monday-Tuesday (24-25 June). AAP leaders have admitted her to LNJP Hospital. Atishi was on hunger strike in Jangpura’s Bhogal since June 21 over Delhi water crisis.

Her demand is to send 100 mgd water from Haryana. Haryana has to send 613 mgd water under the treaty. Atishi claims that the Haryana government is sending only 513 mgd water. Due to this, 28 lakh people of Delhi are not getting water.

Sanjay Singh said – Atishi’s sugar level reached 43
AAP MP Sanjay Singh said that Atishi’s sugar level has reached 43. Doctors have said that her condition has deteriorated. If Atishi is not admitted to the hospital, her condition may worsen.

Sanjay Singh said that Atishi has not eaten anything for the last 5 days. Her sugar level has fallen, ketone is increasing and blood pressure is decreasing. She is not fighting for herself, she is fighting for the people of Delhi, for water.

Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that her blood sugar level was falling since night. When we took her blood sample, her sugar level came out to be 46. When we checked the sugar level with a portable machine, her sugar level came to be 36.

Atishi had refused to be admitted

On Monday (June 24), during the day, the team of doctors of LNJP had told that Atishi’s weight had decreased by more than 2KG in 4 days. Her ketone level has also increased. The doctors’ report said that the patient (Atishi) was asked to get admitted to the hospital and eat food, but she refused.

AAP leaders said that Atishi’s weight is continuously decreasing. Before sitting on hunger strike on June 21, her weight was 65.8 KG, which has come down to 63.6 KG on the fourth day of hunger strike. That is, her weight has decreased by 2.2 kg in just 4 days.

AAP said that her blood sugar level has decreased by 28 units on the fourth day as compared to the first day of hunger strike. Along with this, her blood pressure level has also decreased. Doctors had described the speed at which Atishi’s blood sugar level, blood pressure and weight have decreased as dangerous.

Aatishi said – I will fast till Haryana does not release water

Meanwhile, Atishi had said that my blood pressure and sugar level are falling. My weight has also decreased. The ketone level is very high, which can have harmful effects in the long run. No matter how much pain my body suffers, I will continue the fast till Haryana does not release water.

On June 23, AAP leaders met Delhi LG VK Saxena. LG said that Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has assured that he will consider whether his state can provide additional water to the city.

On Monday (June 24), AAP sent a letter to PM Modi. In this, PM was informed about Delhi’s water problem and demanded a solution to the problem.
