Chamoli (Uttarakhand): The Shri Badrinath temple is being decorated with 40 quintals of flowers in preparation for its upcoming opening on Sunday. Earlier, on May 1, Uttarakhand’s Director General of Police, Deepam Seth, and Additional Director General, V Murugeshan, visited the temple to assess arrangements.

The senior officials reviewed essential arrangements such as security, traffic management, communication, and crowd control along the pilgrimage route. They also interacted with local authorities and inspected key points along the route to ensure a safe, smooth, and convenient experience for pilgrims.

To handle the expected large influx of visitors, the Uttarakhand Police are deploying additional forces and technical support, emphasizing that all safety measures are being taken for a secure and spiritually rewarding Yatra.

The Char Dham Yatra 2025 officially started on April 30, with Gangotri and Yamunotri opening on Akshaya Tritiya amid chanting and rituals. Kedarnath opened on May 2. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Kedarnath on May 2, distributing prasad to devotees at the main Bhandara, and assured the public that proper arrangements have been made for a trouble-free pilgrimage.

He also announced that the Badrinath temple doors will open on May 4, marking the full commencement of the yatra. Over 22 lakh pilgrims have registered at the Rishikesh Transit Camp for this sacred journey so far.

The Char Dham pilgrimage circuit includes four sites: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. The Yamuna River originates from the Yamunotri Glacier in Uttarakhand. Every summer, Uttarakhand witnesses a peak in pilgrimage activity during the Char Dham Yatra season.
