Jaipur: A woman from Balochistan was detained by the Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday after she illegally crossed the India-Pakistan border and entered Rajasthan.

The woman was apprehended at the Vijeta post in Anupgarh, Sri Ganganagar district, early in the morning. Officials said she crossed the border around 5:30 a.m. by climbing over the barbed wire fence.

She has refused to return to Pakistan, stating that her life would be in danger if sent back.

During initial questioning, she identified herself as Humara, a 33-year-old resident of Dagri Khan village in Kech district, Balochistan. She also shared that her husband’s name is Wasim, and her parents were originally from Karachi.

Authorities found items like a mobile phone, gold earrings, a nose ring, and a gold bracelet in her possession.

Security agencies are investigating the case to determine the reason behind her crossing and whether she has any links to suspicious organizations. The BSF confirmed she was detained about 50 meters inside Indian territory.

Given the seriousness of the situation, intelligence agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and CID, have been alerted. Investigators are looking into whether her crossing was accidental or part of a broader plan.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Prashant Kaushik confirmed the incident, stating that the woman was detained by BSF soldiers at the Vijeta Post and is being interrogated. Authorities are also analyzing her mobile phone as part of the investigation.

Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
