Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina receives ceremonial welcome in Delhi; came to attend swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi

Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in New Delhi this afternoon to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as prime minister, scheduled for the evening of June 9th.

New Delhi: Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in New Delhi this afternoon to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as prime minister, scheduled for the evening of June 9th.

India formally announced that leaders from seven neighboring countries and the Indian Ocean region will attend the event. According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will be present.

Additionally, Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, and Vice-President of Seychelles Ahmed Afif have accepted India’s invitation.

While Hasina has already arrived in New Delhi, Afif is expected to arrive on Saturday, and the remaining leaders will arrive on Sunday.
