Bengaluru Metro revises ticket prices, new fares range from Rs 10 to Rs 90

Bengaluru:The Bengaluru Metro Railway Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) announced a new ticket pricing structure, effective from Sunday. The fares now range from Rs 10 for journeys up to 2 km to Rs 90 for distances of 30 km and above. The new ticket prices are as follows: Rs 10 for 0 to 2 km Rs 20 for 2.

Bengaluru:The Bengaluru Metro Railway Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) announced a new ticket pricing structure, effective from Sunday. The fares now range from Rs 10 for journeys up to 2 km to Rs 90 for distances of 30 km and above.

The new ticket prices are as follows:

  • Rs 10 for 0 to 2 km
  • Rs 20 for 2 to 4 km
  • Rs 30 for 4 to 6 km
  • Rs 40 for 6 to 8 km
  • Rs 50 for 8 to 10 km
  • Rs 60 for 10 to 15 km
  • Rs 70 for 15 to 20 km
  • Rs 80 for 20 to 25 km
  • Rs 90 for 25 to 30 km

Travel beyond 30 km will still be charged at Rs 90. The BMRCL will continue to offer a 5% discount on smart card purchases.

This price revision follows recommendations from a Fare Fixation Committee, established under Section 34 of the Metro Railways (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002. The committee presented its report on December 16, 2024, and its suggestions are binding under the law.

In addition to regular fares, BMRCL is offering a 10% discount on smart cards on Sundays and national holidays (January 26, August 15, and October 2) throughout the day. A minimum balance of Rs 90 is required for smart cards.

The price of tourist cards has also been updated:

  • Rs 300 for one day for groups of 25 to 99
  • Rs 600 for three days for groups of 100 to 1,000
  • Rs 800 for five days for groups of over 1,000.
