Devanahalli (Bengaluru): Two individuals were arrested for selling the banned drug ganja after Devanahalli Police Station received reliable information from an informant on March 8. According to the police, the accused were selling drugs from a two-wheeler near Rani Cross, MR Layout, within the station’s jurisdiction.

Following the tip-off, a case was filed under the NDPS Act, and police officers, along with informers, raided the location and arrested the two suspects. The authorities seized 3.2 kg of ganja, two mobile phones, a weighing scale, and a two-wheeler from the arrested individuals.

During interrogation, the suspects revealed the identity of another accomplice who had been supplying them with ganja. Acting on this lead, the police apprehended the third suspect on March 8 at a house in BTM Layout, New Gurappanapally. The suspect admitted to procuring the drugs at a low price from an unidentified person.

In total, 3.2 kg of ganja, two mobile phones, a weighing scale, and a two-wheeler were seized, with the total value estimated at Rs. 1,80,000. On March 9, the three accused were presented before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

This operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Northeast Division, V.J. Sujeeth, IPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Devanahalli Sub Division, Naveen Kumar, and Police Inspector of Devanahalli Police Station, Rakesh C, along with their team.

Earlier, on Wednesday, two people were also caught selling illegal drugs in a car on Jodi Road, Narayananagar, Doddakkallasandra, under the jurisdiction of Konanakunte Police Station in Bengaluru. The police acted swiftly upon receiving information and arrested the two suspects after raiding the scene. A case was filed against them under the NDPS Act at the Konanakunte Police Station.
