Patna: An encounter occurred between police and criminals in the Maner area of Patna district, Bihar, on Friday morning. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has arrived at the scene for inspection.
Earlier, a police encounter in Patna resulted in the injury of a wanted criminal, Sonu Kumar, who has been linked to several serious crimes. According to police officials, Kumar and his associates opened fire on the police team attempting to arrest him.
City SP of Patna West, Sarath RS, confirmed that the police had received a tip-off about Sonu Kumar’s whereabouts and quickly moved to the location. However, when the police team arrived, the criminals opened fire, prompting the police to return fire. In the exchange, Sonu Kumar was injured and later taken to the hospital for treatment.
Sarath RS further stated, “Sonu Kumar, a criminal wanted for several serious offenses, was located, and upon our arrival, the criminals fired at the police. In retaliation, Sonu Kumar was injured and sent to the hospital. Further action is underway.”
Although some criminals managed to escape, the police recovered a pistol and other items from the scene. The FSL team is present, and the investigation is ongoing.
