New Delhi: BJP leader Praveen Khandelwal criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for neglecting healthcare resources and misusing medical supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic. He claimed that essential medical equipment went unused and alleged that the AAP government showed no interest in the health of Delhi’s residents. According to Khandelwal, had these supplies been distributed during the pandemic, people might have credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which the AAP leadership likely wanted to avoid. He stated that despite acquiring the supplies at minimal cost, the AAP government failed to utilize them, causing suffering for those in need and exemplifying negligence in managing healthcare resources.

This statement followed a visit by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to GTB Hospital on Tuesday, where she observed the large-scale waste of medical supplies. Gupta revealed that medical equipment worth crores, such as oxygen concentrators, ventilators, and PPE kits, had remained unused since the pandemic. She also pointed out that hospital facilities were non-functional, with new buildings, worth ₹12,000 crores, left incomplete and without medical facilities. Gupta criticized the AAP government for wasting taxpayer money and leaving the healthcare system in disarray, with patients unable to receive proper treatment and doctors struggling to manage due to a shortage of staff.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta hosted a ‘Jan Milan Samaroh’ at her residence, where a large number of citizens and supporters gathered to greet her. The event saw enthusiastic participation, with people presenting bouquets and gifts, and engaging in discussions with the Chief Minister. Several dignitaries and party workers were also present at the gathering.
