New Delhi: BJP MP Ravi Kishan praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech during the Lok Sabha’s debate on the Constitution’s 75th anniversary, which lasted 106 minutes.
On the same day, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi questioned the government’s position regarding Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s views on the Constitution. In his address, PM Modi emphasized the importance of the Constitution and presented “11 pledges and duties” for citizens, advocating for zero tolerance towards corruption and the elimination of dynastic politics to achieve a Developed India by 2047.
Following PM Modi’s speech, Ravi Kishan remarked on the Prime Minister’s composure amid opposition outbursts, highlighting how Modi’s pledges were inclusive and aimed at national development. Kishan noted that the speech delivered a significant message, especially for women, and was filled with enthusiasm.
In response to Rahul Gandhi’s comments about Savarkar, Shiv Sena MP Dhairyasheel Sambhajirao Mane defended Savarkar as a key figure in Maharashtra and the freedom struggle, criticizing Congress for its perceived animosity towards him. Mane argued that the political discourse surrounding Savarkar in Parliament was inappropriate and referenced how Rahul Gandhi’s grandmother had acknowledged Savarkar’s contributions. He suggested that there was no need for political maneuvering over this issue.
