New Delhi: Congress leader Sandeep Dixit criticized the BJP regarding the upcoming all-party delegation visiting key countries to promote India’s stance against cross-border terrorism and Operation Sindoor. He accused the BJP of shirking responsibility and refusing to answer questions, urging that the delegation should clearly state India’s position, set objectives, put pressure on Pakistan, and declare it a terrorist state.
Dixit emphasized, “The BJP no longer responds to questions. Congress has repeatedly suggested sending a delegation to represent India’s position. We want them to establish their goals, pressure Pakistan, and declare it a terrorist state.”
Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh accused the BJP of politicking and undermining parliamentary norms by excluding opposition-nominated members from the delegation. He pointed out that Congress had submitted four recommended names by May 16, but the final list released on May 17 included only one.
The delegation aims to showcase India’s united front and firm stance against terrorism globally. It consists of MPs from various parties, divided into seven groups, each led by a designated leader who will represent India internationally. The prominent MPs include Congress’s Shashi Tharoor, BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad, JDU’s Sanjay Kumar Jha, BJP’s Baijayant Panda, DMK’s Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, NCP’s Supriya Sule, and Shiv Sena’s Shrikant Eknath Shinde.
