The brakes of a bus carrying pilgrims returning from Amarnath Yatra failed on the Jammu-Srinagar highway near Banihal in Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this incident that happened on Tuesday morning, the bus driver lost control of the bus. Some of the 40 pilgrims on the bus jumped off the moving bus.

Police said that the pilgrims were going to Hoshiarpur in Punjab after the darshan. 10 people have been injured in the accident, who are undergoing treatment. Police said that there was a drain near the National Highway. If the jawans had not been able to stop the bus on time, a major accident could have happened. The injured include 6 men, 3 women and a child. Some of them also suffered serious injuries.

This is the second incident in 3 days of a bus full of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims crashing. Earlier on June 30, a van carrying pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra met with a road accident in Chandanwari area of ​​Pahalgam, Kashmir.

Many devotees were injured in this accident. 2 people were seriously injured. As soon as the information of this accident was received, the quick response team of BSF reached to treat the injured. During this accident also, the lives of the injured pilgrims were saved due to the timely arrival of BSF jawans.
