The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) of the Central Government has given a strict warning to the employees working in government offices that they are allowed to come late by only 15 minutes.

This instruction has been issued to all the central government offices in the country. The time for the central employee to reach the office is 9 a.m., but he can reach the office by 9:15. If the employee is later than this, then half his day’s salary will be deducted. This order of DoPT is for all the central employees, from senior officers to small and big ones.

Since the Corona period, the use of biometrics has been stopped in many government offices. Now once again, the central government has given instructions to use the biometric system for attendance. Also, DoPT has said in its order that if the employees do not reach the office by 9:15 am, then their half-day casual leave will be considered.

However, it has also been said in the DoPT instructions that if the employee is unable to reach the office on time due to some urgent work, he will have to inform his senior officer in advance.

Also, it will be necessary for the employees to apply for casual leave. Apart from this, DoPT has given strict instructions to the officers to make the employees punctual in the assigned sections and also keep a special eye on their attendance.

The rule will apply to everyone.

Lateness is quite common in the offices under the central government. According to media reports, especially junior-level employees, often reach the office much later than the scheduled time and also leave the office before their scheduled time.

This decision has been taken to curb the negligence of employees. Let us tell you that, regarding this, many senior officers have complained to the central government that they do not have any fixed office timings.
