Dehradun, May 29: The number of deaths of devotees in the Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra is constantly increasing. 68 devotees have died so far within 29 days in the Char Dham Yatra, which started on 30 April.
Out of these, 60 devotees died due to ill health. While eight devotees died due to other reasons. Out of these deaths, 6 devotees died during a helicopter crash in Gangani of Uttarkashi.
According to the data of the State Emergency Operations Centre, 30 devotees have died in Kedarnath Dham. While 14 devotees have died in Gangotri Dham so far. Similarly, 12 devotees have lost their lives in Badrinath Dham.
If we talk about Yamunotri Dham, here also 12 devotees have died due to ill health. All these devotees in all four Dhams have died due to ill health. They had heart, respiratory or diabetes related diseases.
This year the Char Dham Yatra started on Akshaya Tritiya on 30 April. The doors of Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham were opened on 30 April. While the doors of Baba Kedarnath Dham were opened on 2 May. Finally, the doors of Badri Vishal were opened for devotees on 4 May.
So far within 29 days, 16,45,155 devotees have visited the four Dhams. The highest number of devotees is at Baba Kedarnath Dham. 6,25,837 devotees have come here for darshan. Whereas 4,35,226 devotees have visited Badrinath Dham.
Similarly, 2,79,047 devotees reached Gangotri Dham for darshan. 2,93,163 devotees have visited Yamunotri Dham. The doors of the holy shrine of Sikhs, Hemkund Sahib, were opened on 25 May. Till now, 9174 devotees have reached there for darshan.
