CNG laden tanker collision with truck in jaipur, 8 burnt alive, 35 injured

The tanker's blast spread the chemicals all around, and a fire broke out.

Jaipur: On Friday morning, a tanker filled with LPG gas exploded in front of Delhi Public School on Ajmer Highway in Jaipur. 8 people were burnt alive and 35 people were injured in the accident. The gas tanker was hit by a truck. This caused gas leakage from the tanker, which spread up to 200 meters, which suddenly caught fire.

According to the information, the tanker was coming from Ajmer to Jaipur in the morning. At around 5.44 am, it was taking a U-turn back towards Ajmer from in front of Delhi Public School. Meanwhile, a truck coming from Jaipur collided with the tanker. With this, the entire area became a ball of fire.

The sound of the explosion was heard for 10 kilometers.

More than 40 vehicles were engulfed in fire. Many people did not get a chance to get out. A sleeper bus running behind the tanker and a pipe factory located on the side of the highway also burned. After this, the highway was closed. There was a lot of difficulty in rescue due to the spread of gas after the explosion.

Sushant Kumar Singh, DGM (Fire and Safety) of GAIL India Limited, said that GAIL’s pipeline is passing at a distance of 100 meters from the spot. A tanker of BPCL filled with LPG was going here, which was hit by a loaded container, due to which LPG spilled out in liquid form. Due to this, the whole area became a fireball.

Sushant Kumar Singh said that when the LPG came out due to the accident, it caught fire on its own, because there was a spark when it collided. As soon as the blast was reported, more than 30 ambulances and fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. All the injured have been admitted to Sawai Mansingh Hospital in Jaipur. Many ministers including Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma reached the spot and inquired about the causes of the accident.
