On Saturday, a significant IED explosion targeted a patrol operation conducted by Naxal forces in the Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. IG Bastar P Sundarraj reported that Naxal militants ambushed an ITBP patrolling team, resulting in injuries to two personnel from the ITBP due to the blast.
The day before, Dantewada police announced that 38 Naxal militants were killed during an encounter in the Abujhmad forest, near the border of Dantewada and Narayanpur.
A statement from the police indicated that the encounter took place in the villages of Nendur and Thulthuli. The deceased Naxals had a cumulative reward of Rs 2.62 crore on their heads. Out of the 38 militants killed, police have recovered 31 bodies, with 29 having been handed over to their families. All identified Naxals were confirmed dead in the incident, as reported by the police.
