Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the ‘Rudra Sagar Setu’ in Ujjain on Saturday. This 200-meter-long bridge is connected to the ‘Shakti path,’ one of the entry points for Mahakal Lok, and represents the second phase of the Mahakal Lok corridor. Constructed at a cost exceeding Rs 22 crore, the bridge not only offers an additional access route but also enhances the area’s appearance. Visitors coming to Mahakal Lok to pay their respects to Lord Shiva will enjoy a scenic view from the 20-foot-high bridge, which has been designed to accommodate public gatherings.
The inauguration coincides with the upcoming Maha Shivratri, when many devotees are expected to visit. During his visit to Ujjain, Chief Minister Yadav will also participate in various public events and open multiple projects across the city.
Additionally, he will perform ‘bhumi pujan’ for a new food court complex on the Ujjain-Devas road, along with two irrigation-related projects. The Chief Minister is also set to inaugurate several road development initiatives, as Ujjain is undergoing rapid infrastructure upgrades in anticipation of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, scheduled for 2028. The state government emphasizes its commitment to effectively manage this significant Hindu gathering, which occurs once every 12 years and is expected to attract more than 10 crore visitors. Preparations are underway, including extensive arrangements along the banks of the Shipra river for the 13 Akharas of saints and seers participating in the event.
