Nainital, May 1: A case of rape of a 12-year-old girl has come to light in Nainital, Uttarakhand. The accused is a 65-year-old contractor from the Muslim community who has been living here for a long time.

It was said that the accused 65-year-old contractor, has been living in Nainital with his family for the last 50 years. He is a licensed contractor in many departments, including the Nainital Public Works Department.
SSP Nainital Prahlad Narayan Meena said that based on the complaint of the minor’s parents, a case has been registered against the accused Usman and he has been taken into custody and presented in court. The SSP said that after the incident came to light, some local youths protested against it.
Police has been deployed to calm the situation. He said that the situation is normal in Nainital and Haldwani. Police force has been deployed at different places so that the situation does not deteriorate.
The SSP has appealed to the local people not to pay attention to any kind of misleading news. The police is taking strict action in this case. The accused will be given the harshest punishment.
