Patna: In a reply to Congress over the protests across country on the Dr Br Ambeker row the deputy Bihar Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha Tuesday said that the congress has done historical mistreatment of Ambedker, says the grand old party’s leaders were responsible for his removal from the cabinet.
Speaking with the reporters Sinha questioned why Congress did not make Ambedkar the Prime Minister and accused them of prioritizing figures like Jawaharlal Nehru over Ambedkar.
He also said that he challenges the Congress leaders to offer greater respect to Ambedkar than to Nehru.
The protests from Congress nationwide on the remarks made by Amit Shah in parliament got a fierce response from BJP leaders across the country. Another Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary accused the Congress of consistently insulting Ambedkar.
Choudhary shared that the Congress leaders always insulted Dr B.R. Ambedkar. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna by a non-Congress government. It reflects a perceived lack of recognition by Congress during its rule.
He also criticized the Congress for misusing Article 356 alleging that it signifies a lack of faith in the Constitution and democratic principles that Ambedkar helped shape in the country.
These criticisms have come amid protests by Congress leaders over Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks during a debate in the Rajya Sabha on the 75th anniversary of the Constitution.
Earlier, last week Shah in a parliament stated, “Nowadays, there is a fashion about Ambedkar. Opposition parties and their leaders keep shouting .
This comment was met with criticism from various political leaders and parties.
