New Delhi: Following the recent tragic incident involving the death of a 9-year-old girl in Delhi, a 7-year-old girl was molested in the Sabzi Mandi police station area. When the girl disclosed the assault to her parents, an angry mob beat up the accused, identified as Mohammad Salim. The police were then informed, and Salim was detained. The victim has been sent for a medical examination.
Police officials stated that the accused does not live as a neighbor but resides in the same locality as the girl. North Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Raja Banthia shared that the incident, reported via a PCR call, occurred last night, and the girl gave her statement in the morning.
The girl told her family about the molestation, leading to public anger and physical assault on Salim. He has been arrested and charged under relevant sections, with a medical exam scheduled. The investigation is ongoing.
This case follows the brutal discovery of a nine-year-old girl’s body, which was found in a suitcase in North East Delhi after she went missing while visiting a relative. Medical reports suggest possible sexual assault, and the child’s body was found naked after her father broke into a locked flat nearby. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and raised serious concerns about child and women’s safety.
