New Delhi: The Delhi BJP has accused AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal of attempting to secure his hold on power by incorporating fake voters ahead of the Assembly elections in Delhi.

In a poster inspired by the series SCAM 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, the BJP’s version plays on the original film’s tagline. While the original states, “Risk hai toh Ishq hai,” the BJP’s mockery reads “Farzi voters se Ishq hai” (Kejriwal loves fake voters). The poster also alters the film’s title to “Mahathag Original, Voter List scam 2024.”

In a social media post, the Delhi BJP accused Kejriwal of manipulating the voter registration process by creating bogus votes, particularly citing claims of dozens of names from a specific community added to the voter lists without the homeowners’ consent. They highlighted testimonies from Hindu residents who noted that minority community members’ names had been registered at their addresses without their knowledge.

Delhi BJP chief Sachdeva alleged that Kejriwal was orchestrating widespread voter fraud. He mentioned that there have been applications for 183,000 new voters across various localities, including Narela (4,503), Burari (7,027), and several others, fueling their claims of electoral misconduct.
