New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in a 20-day cleanliness initiative called ‘My NDMC, Keep It Clean,’ starting from the Hanuman Temple area in Connaught Place. The campaign aimed to encourage civic responsibility and environmental hygiene, with NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal also actively taking part.
Addressing the media, CM Gupta urged citizens and officials to actively participate in keeping Delhi clean, highlighting that the initiative sent a symbolic message about collective responsibility. She emphasized that a clean Delhi is a fundamental right of its residents and acknowledged the efforts made by NDMC to promote cleanliness. She encouraged everyone to join the campaign to achieve the goal of a cleaner city.
Earlier, on Monday, Gupta and Vijaya K Rahatkar, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW), inaugurated the ‘Mahila Maha Jan Sunwai’ camp. This five-day program aims to provide swift action on pending cases of women in distress, underscoring the importance of justice for women in need. Gupta expressed appreciation for the NCW’s initiative, emphasizing that distressed women should receive prompt relief and justice.
On Sunday, CM Gupta also launched the MedLEaPR (Medico-Legal Examination and Postmortem Reporting) system at the Secretariat. She described it as a transformative measure to enhance the efficiency and credibility of India’s criminal justice process. The initiative is part of efforts to modernize the justice system in response to recent criminal law reforms enacted by the Central Government.
