New Delhi: Delhi Labor Minister Rajkumar Anand on Thursday issued an order to increase the monthly wages of unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled workers to provide relief to the laborers and employees here in the national capital who are suffering from inflation.
The new rates for the hike in minimum monthly wages are applicable from October 1. According to the Delhi government statement, the new rates of minimum wages are — monthly wage of skilled workers increased from 20,903 to 21,215 by 312; monthly salary of semi-skilled workers increased from 18,993 to 19,279 by 286; and 260 increased in the monthly wages of unskilled labourers from 17,234 to 17,494.
Anand said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, this big step has been taken keeping in mind the interests of the poor and working class of Delhi. This will give relief to the working class who are suffering from inflation.
He said that dearness allowance cannot be withheld from unorganized sector workers, who normally get only minimum wages, so the Delhi government has announced a new minimum wage by adding dearness allowance.
