New Delhi: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has apprehended three members of the infamous Bhau gang following an incident where they opened fire on officers in the Rohini area. One of the suspects sustained a leg injury during the police’s retaliatory firing.

According to police reports, they received intelligence regarding the gang’s movement near Begampur in Rohini. Upon their arrival, the Crime Branch set a trap and instructed the suspects to halt. Instead of complying, the gang members fired at the police team.

In a subsequent exchange of gunfire, one gang member was hit in the leg. Earlier in 2024, a joint operation by Delhi Police’s Crime Branch and the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) resulted in the deaths of three shooters linked to the Himanshu Bhau gang in the Kharkhoda region of Sonipat, Haryana. The deceased were identified as Ashish alias Lalu, Sunny Kharar, and Vicky Ridhana. Ashish and Vicky were also implicated in a shooting incident at a Burger King on Najafgarh Road, where a man named Aman Joon was shot while meeting his girlfriend on the evening of June 18, 2024.

Gangster Himanshu Bhau took to social media to assert responsibility for the attack, citing it as retaliation for the murder of his associate “Shakti Dada.” All three shooters were wanted by both Haryana and Delhi Police, who had placed a reward of Rs 1 lakh on each of them. Furthermore, Interpol has issued a red-corner notice for Himanshu Bhau. In May, Delhi Police also enforced the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against the Himanshu Bhau Gang due to their ongoing criminal activities.
