“Delighted to come here”: Goa CM arrives in Prayagraj, to take part in Mahakumbh

Prayagraj: Goa’s Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, accompanied by other state ministers, arrived at Prayagraj Airport on Saturday to participate in the Mahakumbh. They plan to take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. In a statement to ANI, CM Sawant praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi.

Prayagraj: Goa’s Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, accompanied by other state ministers, arrived at Prayagraj Airport on Saturday to participate in the Mahakumbh. They plan to take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.

In a statement to ANI, CM Sawant praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for ensuring that all necessary arrangements are in place. “I am here with our MLAs and cabinet ministers to join the Maha Kumbh. UP CM Yogi Adityanath has made excellent arrangements. A significant number of people are arriving, and we have organized for those from Goa to attend. We are thrilled to be here, and I want to express gratitude to UP CM Yogi Adityanath on behalf of the people of Goa,” he remarked.

Earlier, on Thursday, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and his wife took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam during the ongoing Mahakumbh. Saha offered prayers to the sacred Ganga for the peace and prosperity of Tripura. He shared on X, “I was fortunate to take a dip in the Mahakumbh, Prayagraj. The holy water, divine energy, and spiritual atmosphere made it an unforgettable experience. I prayed to Ganga Maiya for the peace and prosperity of the entire Tripura.”

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and several state ministers also took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam on Thursday. CM Sai noted that a total of 166 individuals, including the Governor, Speaker, ministers, and MLAs from Chhattisgarh, participated in the holy dip. “This moment has come after 144 years. We commend the CM of Uttar Pradesh for the arrangements and thank him for the invitation. After this, we will head to the Chhattisgarh pavilion,” he told ANI.

According to the Uttar Pradesh government, over 3.324 million devotees had taken a dip in the Triveni Sangam by 9 am today. The UP information department reported that nearly 501.1 million people have participated in the holy dips so far, surpassing the populations of several major countries, including the United States, Russia, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, making the Mahakumbh the largest spiritual gathering in the world.
