New Delhi: Sudhanshu Trivedi, a BJP Rajya Sabha MP, criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her comments regarding the Maha Kumbh, labeling them as a ‘deliberate’ insult to Sanatan Dharma. He argued that such disparaging remarks are part of a broader strategy by the INDIA bloc to undermine the Hindu faith.

In an interview with IANS, Trivedi condemned Banerjee’s statement, where she referred to the Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj as ‘Mrityu Kumbh’ due to alleged mismanagement and the prioritization of VIP treatment during the event. He expressed that there is a consistent effort by opposition parties to diminish the religious importance of the Maha Kumbh and highlighted similar derogatory remarks made by other leaders within the INDIA alliance, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Akhilesh Yadav, and Lalu Yadav.

Trivedi accused the INDIA bloc of harboring a deep-seated animosity towards Hinduism, asserting that their comments reflect a ‘global conspiracy’ aimed at damaging the faith. He emphasized that despite these attacks, the resilience of Hinduism would prevail and that the public would ultimately see through their intentions and reject their agenda.
