New Delhi: On Monday, Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Amit Shah strongly criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, asserting that Kharge had surpassed not only himself but also other party leaders in being “distasteful and disgraceful” in his remarks during the final day of campaigning for the third and last phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.
This criticism followed Kharge’s speech, where he said that he would stay alive until Prime Minister Narendra Modi was removed from power. He made this statement while feeling unwell during a rally in the Jasrota area of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
On the social media platform X, Shah stated, “Yesterday, Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge Ji surpassed himself, his leaders, and his party in being completely distasteful and disgraceful in his speech. In a vindictive display of malice, he unjustly involved PM Modi in his personal health issues by saying he would only pass away after PM Modi is removed from power.”
Shah further commented that this demonstrates the “hate and fear” that Congress harbors for PM Modi. He also mentioned that both PM Modi and he pray for Kharge’s “long and healthy life,” hoping he will witness the development of a “Viksit Bharat by 2047.”
“It simply illustrates how much animosity and fear the Congress has towards PM Modi, as they continually think about him. Regarding Mr. Kharge Ji’s health, Modi Ji prays; I pray, and we all pray that he enjoys a long and healthy life. May he live for many years and witness the creation of a Viksit Bharat by 2047,” Shah stated.
Earlier on Sunday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge felt unwell while speaking at a rally in the Jasrota area of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir. Congress leader Thakur Balbir Singh mentioned that Kharge experienced suffocation due to the intense heat. After taking a brief rest, Kharge resumed his speech, assuring the audience that he was fine and would not be dying anytime soon.
