Raipur, July 18: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. According to news agency ANI, this arrest has been made in the money laundering case related to the liquor scam.
ED presented Chaitanya Baghel in Raipur’s special court. The court has sent Chaitanya on 5-day remand of ED till July 22. Many big leaders including Bhupesh Baghel, Charandas Mahant, Mohammad Akbar were present in the court.
Before this, Bhupesh Baghel posted on X and wrote – ED has arrived. Today is the last day of the assembly session. The issue of trees being cut in Tamnar for Adani was to be raised today. ‘Saheb’ has sent ED to Bhilai residence.
While going to the assembly, Bhupesh Baghel said- Last time ED was sent on my birthday. This time on my son’s birthday Modi-Shah have sent ED to please their master. Bhupesh Baghel will neither bow down nor be afraid. Today the issue of Adani will be raised in the assembly, that is why ED has been sent.
Know what is the liquor scam of Chhattisgarh
ED is investigating the Chhattisgarh liquor scam case. ED has filed an FIR in ACB. In the FIR filed, it has been said that the scam is worth more than 2 thousand crore rupees.
The ED found in its investigation that the scam was carried out during the tenure of the then Bhupesh government through a syndicate of IAS officer Anil Tuteja, Excise Department MD AP Tripathi and businessman Anwar Dhebar.
Congress MLAs boycotted assembly proceedings
The matter of ED raid at Bhupesh Baghel’s house has echoed in the assembly. During this, the opposition boycotted the proceedings of the assembly. Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant said that there is pressure from ED. ED has raided Bhupesh Baghel’s house. Today is the child’s birthday and he has arrested. All this is happening under the pressure of the government. Congress MLAs have walked out of the House.

Bhupesh Baghel has targeted PM Modi and Amit Shah by posting on social media. He has written that no one in any democracy of the world can give such birthday gifts as Modi and Shah ji give.
He wrote that on my birthday, both the most respected leaders sent ED to the house of my advisor and two OSDs. Now on my son Chaitanya’s birthday, ED team is raiding my house. Thank you for these gifts. I will remember this for the rest of my life.
