Gurugram: A major online pornography racket was busted by the Enforcement Directorate in Noida, revealing an illegal network that spanned international borders. The racket, allegedly run by Ujjwal Kishore and his wife Neelu Srivastava, operated for five years with massive foreign funding.
The couple was linked to a Cyprus-based company, Technius Limited, known for operating popular adult websites like Xhamster and Stripchat, the couple misrepresented bank transactions to transfer funds to foreign companies, falsely showing payments for advertising and market research.
During a raid on the couple’s Noida home, the ED seized Rs. 15.66 crore in illegal foreign funding. Investigations revealed that Ujjawal Kishore had previously been involved in a similar operation in Russia before moving to India.
The Couple recruited models through social media platforms, mainly Facebook by promising lucrative salaries. Women fro Delhi-NCR were lured for auditions, only to be offered participation in the pornography racket, with promises of Rs. 1-2 lakh per month.
The ED discovered a professional webcam studio in the couple’s flat, used to broadcast adult content. Three women were found working in the studio during the raid. The models performed based on customer payments, with the couple keeping 75% of the earnings and sharing only 25% of the earnings with the models.
Payments from customers were initially made through cryptocurrencies, and the ED fund Rs. 7 crore was transferred from Technius Limited to a bank account in the Netherlands. The funds were then with drawn in cash in India using International debit cards.
The ED investigation suggests that thousands of women may have been recruited through this international pornography racket.
