Hyderabad (Telangana): The Excise Department’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) in Hyderabad conducted three separate operations, seizing 56 bottles of liquor valued at Rs. 2.50 lakhs and arresting four individuals for illegal possession and transportation of alcohol. The raids took place at various locations, including Secunderabad, a railway station, and a private residence in West Marredpally.
In the first raid, led by CI Nagaraju and SI Jyothi, 20 signature liquor bottles were recovered from Sri Pana Raman near the Military Hospital in Secunderabad. The second operation involved intercepting Ajay Singh, a passenger arriving from Bengaluru via the KSR Bengaluru Rajdhani Express, with 44 bottles of Corona Extra and four other liquor bottles.
The third raid was based on a tip-off about ganja sales at a house in West Marredpally. Led by CI Bhiksha Reddy, SI Balaraju, and SI Sandhya, the team seized 13 grams of OG Kush ganja and 32 liquor bottles from Goa, Manipur, and Delhi. Two individuals, Runith and Aditya, were arrested for allegedly storing and selling the liquor.
The total value of the seized liquor across all three cases is estimated at Rs. 2.50 lakhs. The operations are part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal liquor trade in the region, according to officials from the Excise Department.
