Excise Policy Case: Relief to Kejriwal; bail granted on bond of Rs 15,000

The CM appeared before the court following summons issued to him by the court based on two ED complaints in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case.

New Delhi: In a major relief to Arvind Kejriwal, he has been granted bail by Rouse Avenue Court. Court has granted bail to him on bail bond of Rs 15,000.

He arrived today in court and appeared before ACMM Divya Malhotra following summons issued to him by the court on the basis of two ED complaints in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case.

Yesterday sessions court of Delhi refused to put stay on the hearing following which he appeared physically for the first time. Earlier he had appeared via video conferencing when he assured court that he would appear in the court physically in the next hearing.

According to the ED, the agency wants to record Kejriwal’s statement in the case on issues like the formulation of policy, meetings held before it was finalized, and allegations of bribery.
