Union Ministers proposed to give MSP on 4 crops maize, cotton, Yellow Split Peas (Toor lentil) and Black Lentils (urad) In the fourth round of meeting between farmer leaders and the central government on Sunday at Chandigarh. These will be purchased through cooperative societies for five years. After meeting Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that this 5 year contract will be with NAFED and NCCF.
Farmer leaders has took two days to brainstorm on given proposal. The meeting of Union Ministers and farmers started at 8:30 pm on Sunday evening. This lasted for more than 5 hours. Union Ministers Arjun Munda, Nityanand Rai, Piyush Goyal along with Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann, farmer leaders Sarwan Singh Pandher, Jagjit Singh Dallewal were present in the meeting.
Proposal Discuss With Groups
At the same time, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that he will hold discussions with all the groups on 19th and 20th February. After this, we will announce our decision on the evening of 20th. Delhi Chalo Movement has been kept on standby till 11 am on 21st. Till then we will try to present our point before the Centre.
Farmer leader Pandher said- We will discuss the proposal with agricultural experts and law experts. Will take a decision after this. Today he will also discuss this matter with his colleagues.
